Future Flippers

Future Flippers is Taiso’s pre-competitive/developmental program.  It is considered a recreation program for athletes showing potential for a higher level of gymnastics, but it is developing athletes for the competition. While Future Flippers is not a guarantee into the GRACE/GRIT or competitive programs, it will help them gain tools and experience to lead them in that direction. 

It is an invitation only program.  The athletes are selected based on many factors including but not limited to strength, flexibility, independence, work ethic, ability to take correction, behaviour, maturity, body awareness and potential.

The athlete’s range in age from 4 – 8 years old.  Movement to the competitive stream generally happens around 7 – 8 years old depending on readiness, open spaces in the program and development.  We will not move an athlete until they are physically and mentally ready.

The program is designed to help the athletes grow and develop in their strength, flexibility and technique. We will work on basic skill development, to give them a solid base for any future programs they are in. We will emphasise fundamentals in a positive, fun and constructive manner, helping them learn, improve and develop into strong gymnasts. 

The Future Flippers will run for approximately 10 months – September 6, 2025, through June 19, 2026.

During this time, they will have 3 physical and skill testing days, and one fun showcase.
